Support for a sustainable peace plan in Gaza and renewed efforts toward reconstruction topped the agenda as His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa arrived in Washington to participate in the first meeting of the Peace Council at the invitation of US President Donald Trump.
His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa underscored Bahrain’s support for initiatives aimed at restoring stability in the Gaza Strip, protecting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, and advancing a comprehensive peace framework that enhances regional and international security.
Welcoming the efforts led by Donald Trump to promote sustainable peace and reconstruction in Gaza, His Majesty stressed the importance of implementing practical solutions grounded in dialogue and diplomacy. He reaffirmed Bahrain’s longstanding commitment to supporting international cooperation in addressing crises and resolving conflicts through peaceful means.
Upon his arrival in the US capital, His Majesty was received by Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s Ambassador to the United States, along with senior officials.
The King highlighted that participation in the inaugural Peace Council reflects Bahrain’s firm belief in joint global action to safeguard civilians, maintain stability, and establish the foundations for lasting peace and prosperity across the Middle East.
His Majesty expressed confidence that the meeting would help launch a constructive international pathway toward achieving just and comprehensive peace, benefiting the peoples of the region and the wider world.
Accompanying His Majesty is an official delegation comprising senior representatives, including His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of HM the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and National Security Advisor, along with ministers and senior royal court officials.
