Bahrain and UAE Launch Gulf’s First “Single Travel Point” for Air Travelers
The Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates have officially launched the first phase of the “Single Travel Point” (STP) air system at Bahrain International Airport. The initiative is carried out in cooperation with the Secretariat General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
The launch follows the decision of the Interior Ministers of the GCC member states during their 42nd meeting in Kuwait on 12 November 2025, which approved the first phase of the STP system between Bahrain and the UAE. The ceremony was attended by Lieutenant General Adel bin Khalifa Al-Fadhel, Bahrain’s Deputy Minister of Interior; Major General Suhail Saeed Al-Khaili, Director General of the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security of the UAE; and H.E. Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the GCC.
Lieutenant General Al-Fadhel emphasized that the launch of the STP air system reflects the strong ties between Bahrain and its GCC sister states and marks a strategic step toward an integrated Gulf travel network. He explained that the initiative allows travelers to complete key procedures in their country of departure, accelerating transit, reducing waiting times, and ensuring smoother border movement.
He added that the project represents Bahrain’s commitment to adopting innovative digital solutions and leveraging advanced technologies to improve operational efficiency and enhance the quality of services provided to travelers.
