H.E. recalled that when His Excellency Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, visited India in November last year for the 5th High Joint Commission Meeting with His Excellency Dr. S Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs of India, both sides agreed to commemorate the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations with a series of events.

Programmes

The embassy has since launched various programmes to celebrate the relationship across different areas, H.E. said.

His Excellency Ambassador Jacob expressed hope that the entire Bahraini society, along with all Indians living in the Kingdom of Bahrain, will work together with the embassy to make this a memorable year and help take bilateral relations to the next level.

On the occasion of the 77th Republic Day, H.E. conveyed his warm greetings to all 3.15 lakh Indians living in the Kingdom.

His Excellency said Indians should feel proud of India’s achievements, including the strong economic growth the country continues to register.

Economy

Referring to a recent International Monetary Fund report, H.E. noted that the Indian economy is expected to grow at 7.3 percent in fiscal 2026, well above the global average of 3.3 percent, and said this performance reflects an economy thriving and growing stronger year after year.

The ambassador urged the Indian community to continue being involved in India’s growth story and to support the strengthening of India-Bahrain bilateral relations.

H.E. reiterated his hope that the community will join the embassy in making this year’s commemorations of diplomatic relations a great success.
