CFA Bahrain launch second round of Mutamahin programme

CFA Society Bahrain, the Kingdom’s pre-eminent association for local investment professionals, has hosted the kick-off session of its 2016 round for candidates of Mutamahin, the first fresh graduate development programme in the Kingdom.

The training programme will officially start on January 16.

The programme, which means ‘apprentice’ in classical Arabic, was launched in 2014 and initiated to develop and nurture university graduates, with the long-term vision of contributing to a new generation of ethical, dedicated, and seasoned investment professionals.

Last year, top 20 candidates were recognised with a certificate of appreciation from the society and 11 of the highest performing candidates were awarded six-month internships with prestigious Bahraini institutions, such as Bahrain Bourse, Securities & Investment Company (SICO), Bahrain National Holding, Bahrain Credit and BBK.

This year, CFA Society Bahrain is tying up with some of the top employers in Bahrain, including Al Baraka Banking Group, Bahrain Bourse, Bahrain National Holding, Bahrain Credit, Kuwait Finance House and BBK to provide internships for the best performing participants.

Mahmoud Nawar, CFA, President of CFA Society Bahrain, commented: “This programme is a testimony to our dedication as a society to providing university students with the opportunity to gain financial and professional skills that will better prepare them for a career in a dynamic and highly competitive industry. We hope to build on the success of the previous year and continue to develop Mutamahin to be the best path for these graduates to shape a more trustworthy financial industry.”

A country’s greatest asset is its young people and by investing in their future we will ensure the prosperity of our great nation. We would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to the Bahraini institutions for their continuous support and dedication towards contributing to the development of local capital market and professional skills.”

Muizz Alaradi, CFA, Chairperson of the Mutamahin programme, said: “Dedicated students who exhibit a commitment to excellence and a thirst for knowledge deserve all the help they can get. We are delighted to continue supporting the development of new graduates through this programme to enable our best and brightest to continue to pursue their dreams.”

Mutamahin will hold its training sessions from January to March 2016 and will provide candidates with a variety of training sessions on Ethics at Work, Project Management, Technical Financial Skills, Economic Outlook, as well as general career skills such as Team Work, Personal Branding, Presentation and Interview Skills. The majority of the training sessions will be led by experts in the region who are committed to the professional development of young Arab talent.
