Southern Governorate Honors Partners Following Landmark "Healthy Governorate" Recognition

In a high-profile ceremony held at the Police Officers Club, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Governor of the Southern Governorate, honored government entities, private sector partners, and civil society organizations for their pivotal role in the success of the governorate’s 2025 initiatives.
The event, attended by Deputy Governor Brigadier Hamad Mohammed Al Khayyat and various senior officials, celebrated a year of significant milestones in the security, developmental, and social sectors. A primary highlight of the ceremony was the celebration of the Southern Governorate’s official accreditation as a "Healthy Governorate" by the World Health Organization (WHO)—a major national achievement under the Healthy Cities Program.
Addressing the attendees, His Highness the Governor emphasized that this annual tradition reinforces the depth of joint cooperation and community partnership. He praised the supporting entities for their contributions to meeting citizens' needs and enhancing public services.
The ceremony included a speech by Ms. Maryam Issa Al-Mannai, Director of Human Resources and Finance, highlighting the governorate's commitment to strategic communication. Dr. Maryam Al-Hajri, Vice President of the Bahrain Diabetes Society, also spoke on behalf of the honorees, expressing gratitude for the governorate's active community engagement.
The event concluded with the distribution of awards to sponsors, media institutions, and members of the Healthy Cities Committee, alongside a short film showcasing the Southern Governorate's 2025 achievements.
