The First High Criminal Court has sentenced the first defendant to five years in prison and a BD10,000 fine, and the second defendant to three years in prison and a BD5,000 fine in a fake employment and social insurance fraud case.
The third to fifth female defendants were each sentenced to three months in prison and fined BD1,000, with the court ordering a three-year suspension of the fifth defendant’s sentence.
All five were convicted of forging employment documents and registering 55 workers under two fictitious companies to fraudulently obtain BD3,199.400 in benefits from the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) between 2022 and 2024.
According to testimony from a court supervisor at GOSI’s Legal Affairs Directorate, the case began when the authority’s Inspection Department detected suspected violations of the Social Insurance Law involving two companies registered in the system.
