Two held over gold jewelry theft

The Public Prosecution has launched an investigation into a reported gold theft involving two Arab suspects, a man and a woman.
This was confirmed by the Chief Prosecutor of the Capital Governorate.
According to the report received from Al-Naeem Police Station under the Capital Governorate Police Directorate, the suspects allegedly stole gold jewelry by surprising a shop worker and replacing the items with counterfeit gold. The stolen jewelry was then reportedly taken to another gold shop, where it was sold for profit.
Interrogation
The Public Prosecution immediately initiated investigations upon receiving the report, interrogating the suspects.
During questioning, the accused reportedly confessed to the theft, admitting that the robbery had been pre-planned.
Following the confessions, the Public Prosecution ordered pretrial detention for both suspects.`
Investigations are ongoing in preparation for their referral to criminal trial.
