The High Criminal Court of Appeal is set to deliver its verdict on September 29 in the case of a driver appealing a six-month jail sentence and a one-year driving ban following a fatal accident.
The incident occurred on July 25, 2025, on ShAikh Salman Road, when the defendant reportedly ran a red traffic signal and struck a pedestrian walking with his bicycle.
The impact hurled the victim onto the vehicle’s windshield, resulting in fatal injuries. The collision also caused damage to both the bicycle and the vehicle.
The appeal comes after the lower court handed down the original sentence, sparking public attention due to the severity of the accident.
