Bahrain is celebrating Saudi Arabia’s 95th National Day with 95 experiences that bring together concerts, comedy, heritage workshops and tourism offers, in a campaign that underlines the closeness of the two kingdoms.

The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) yesterday launched ‘Manawwara Bshoofatkom’, which translates as “your presence makes us shine.” The month-long programme highlights the shared history and forward-looking vision binding Bahrain and Saudi Arabia while inviting Saudi visitors to enjoy authentic Bahraini hospitality.

BTEA Chief Executive Officer Sara Ahmed Buhejji said the initiative is a chance to broaden cooperation and showcase Bahrain as a distinguished tourism destination. “This is an opportunity to further strengthen these ties while offering authentic Bahraini hospitality,” she said.

Star power

The entertainment calendar is packed with regional and international names. Egyptian pop star Tamer Hosny will perform on September 19 at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre. Lebanese comedian John Ashkar takes the stage on September 18 at the Sheraton Hotel. On September 25, US comedian Bill Burr headlines at Exhibition World Bahrain. Regional favourite Saad Al Oud will host two concerts at the Cultural Hall on September 25 and 26.

Shopping malls including City Centre Bahrain, The Avenues and Marassi Galleria will host traditional folk shows from September 23 to 27. Heritage venues will also come alive: Dragon City with cultural displays, Al Jasra Handicrafts Centre with artisan workshops, Bani Jamra Textile Factory with weaving demonstrations, and the Bahrain National Museum and Pearling Path with dedicated programmes.

Tourism offers

To complement the cultural and entertainment line-up, BTEA has launched 40 special tourism packages with hotels and resorts. These include discounted accommodation, dining promotions, leisure activities such as boat trips, diving and pearl-diving excursions, and guided tours of heritage landmarks.

Furter details of the ‘Manawwara Bshoofatkom’ campaign and Bahrain’s yearround events can be found at www.bahrain.com and on the BTEA mobile app.

With 95 ways to celebrate - from pearls to pop icons - Bahrain is ensuring Saudi Arabia’s 95th National Day shines as brightly in Manama as it does in Riyadh.
