HH Shaikh Nasser Meets Citi CEO, Highlights Bahrain’s Financial Strength

 

His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, received Jane Fraser, CEO of Citi Group, during a meeting in Bahrain.

Shaikh Nasser praised Bahrain’s strategic role in the regional energy and financial services sectors, stressing the Kingdom’s commitment to exploring new financial solutions in partnership with Citi. These include structured finance, risk management tools, and tailored services to support national projects and regional initiatives.

He expressed pride in the establishment and expansion of Citi’s Global Technology Hub in Bahrain, saying it reinforced the Kingdom’s reputation as a hub for talent, innovation, and financial leadership in the Middle East. Shaikh Nasser highlighted that Bahrain’s financial sector continues to grow in line with the country’s Economic Vision 2030, helping to achieve sustainable growth and diversify income sources.

Shaikh Nasser also welcomed Citi’s long-standing presence in Bahrain, noting its contributions over more than five decades to the development of the Kingdom’s financial services sector and broader economic progress.

The meeting explored ways to strengthen strategic partnerships, particularly in digital transformation, energy, innovation, and financial services, while boosting Bahrain’s regional and global connectivity.

Discussions also emphasized the strength of Bahraini talent, its diverse human capital, and the critical role it plays in driving innovation, building capacity, and supporting the growth of both the financial and energy sectors.
