Shura Council Secretariat Ramps Up Preparations for Fourth Legislative Session

Mrs. Karima Mohammed Al Abbasi, Secretary-General of the Shura Council, affirmed that the Secretariat is continuing its diligent efforts to ensure full readiness on technical, administrative, organizational, and operational levels in preparation for the opening of the fourth session of the sixth legislative term. She highlighted the intensified efforts to create a supportive work environment for council members, enabling them to effectively carry out their legislative and oversight duties in line with the wise directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to sustain the democratic project.

Al Abbasi noted that the effective coordination between the legislative and executive authorities, under the close supervision of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Prime Minister, serves as a motivation to launch innovative initiatives aimed at developing legislative and national work. She emphasized the Secretariat’s focus on continuous development and modernization, particularly in technology and digital transformation, to enhance institutional efficiency and the overall outcomes of the legislative process.

The remarks came during a broad coordination meeting chaired by Al Abbasi, attended by officials, department directors, and section heads of the Secretariat. The meeting reviewed the latest preparations for the opening of the fourth legislative session, which will be inaugurated by His Majesty the King. Al Abbasi highlighted the direct supervision and continuous support of His Excellency Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Speaker of the Shura Council, which she described as a key factor in ensuring the session begins with the highest level of readiness and organization.

Al Abbasi added that the Secretariat operates based on clear principles, a strategic work plan, and specialized projects that support the legislative process and serve council members. She stressed that excellence in performance and innovation in support services are essential to reinforcing the Council’s position as an effective legislative institution, aligned with the national development vision led by His Majesty the King.

During the meeting, the Secretary-General reviewed ongoing initiatives, projects, and plans, paying particular attention to logistical, technical, and operational preparations. She called on all Secretariat staff to maintain high motivation, exert maximum effort, and work as a united team to reflect the distinguished and professional image of institutional work based on competence and efficiency.
