Big win for Al Kooheji

Bahrain's Hamza Al Kooheji won his bout on a Technical Knockout and the title in the second round of the Desert Force 17 Championship main event against Jordan's Ghaleb Al Harahsheh at the Al Hussein Youth City Boxing Arena in Amman, Jordan on Monday night.
He was involved in one of 11 bouts on the night involving some of the best fighters from the Gulf and Middle Eastern region in various weight divisions.


Al Kooheji a member of the Mixed Martial Arts Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa team (mmh khk) team was congratulated on being the first Bahraini to win the title at the championship by First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and President of the Bahrain Athletics Association, Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa who witnessed the bout and the representative of His Majesty the King to Charity and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.


Also congratulating Al Kooheji for his win was the wise leadership of the Kingdom headed by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, The Prime Minister His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and the Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.


Al Kooheji thanked Shaikh Khalid and Shaikh Nasser for their support in the youth and sports sector and raising the name of the Kingdom worldwide and the support from the leadership and dedicated his win to the people of Bahrain in enhancing the sports sector and its support to the youth which has contributed to many achievements over the years. He also thanked his coaching team for all their hard work and preparations prior to the championship.
