A dental assistant has been fined BD 500 and had the clinic where he worked permanently closed, following a final court ruling confirming his conviction for practicing a medical profession without a license.
According to the Head of the Execution Prosecution, the Public Prosecution has begun enforcing the ruling, which was upheld by the High Criminal Court after rejecting the defendant’s appeal. The court also ordered the confiscation of medical equipment and tools used in the illegal practice.
The case began when the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) filed a complaint after discovering that a dental assistant was working without the necessary license. In response, NHRA temporarily closed the clinic until legal action was taken.
The Public Prosecution referred the individual to the Lower Criminal Court, which found him guilty and issued a BD 500 fine, ordered the closure of the clinic, and confiscated the tools used in the offense. The defendant appealed the ruling, but the High Criminal Court dismissed the appeal and upheld the original judgment.
The Head of the Execution Prosecution stressed that the Public Prosecution will continue to firmly enforce court rulings, ensuring compliance with legal and professional standards in the health sector. This approach, he noted, is essential to protecting public health and maintaining trust in medical services.
