The United Nations General Assembly will cast its vote on Bahrain's candidacy for a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council for the 2026–2027 term.

Bahrain’s decision to pursue this seat was not merely symbolic or procedural. It was a strategic move grounded in the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to ensure Bahrain plays an active and meaningful role in addressing global justice and humanitarian issues.

When Bahrain formally submitted its candidacy, it went beyond the basic requirements. Under the leadership of Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs crafted a comprehensive agenda detailing the Kingdom’s priorities and its proposed contributions as a member of the Security Council.

This agenda outlines the core issues Bahrain intends to focus on during its term and reflects its strong commitment to international peace, security, and cooperation. It also highlights major global challenges that Bahrain pledges to engage with as part of its duties within the Council.

The development and presentation of this detailed agenda signal the Kingdom’s serious and determined approach to its Security Council membership. It demonstrates Bahrain’s readiness to shoulder its responsibilities with full dedication and integrity on the international stage.
