National Day festivities at Muharraq Municipality

As part of the National Day celebrations, Muharraq Municipal Council held a special programme at Shaikh Khalifa Garden in Hidd yesterday where a number of physically challenged people gathered to take part in the celebrations.

Special stalls of paintings and calligraphy etc. had been specifically displayed there for the public. A group of people beat the drum with full dedication and the people watched them with pleasure and amusement.      

Speaking to the DT News, Chairman Muharraq Municipal Council Shaikh Mohamed bin Abdullah Al Snan said that he was very happy to see people enjoying the event. 

Shaikh  Mohamed congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa and the people of Bahrain on this auspicious occasion of the National Day of
Bahrain.

Commenting that he had arranged the event in his personal interest, Shaikh  Mohamed said, “It’s an occasion of happiness and thankfulness that we are celebrating our National Day.” 

Ali Muhammad Moosa, a special person and author of a book said that they were happy to be part of the National Day celebrations. “We are very happy and enjoying every moment here.” 

Mr and Mrs Khalid from Egypt, who had happened to be at the event said that it was the first time they had been to Bahrain and they were very pleased to see the Bahraini people enjoying.

Head of Calligraphy and Paintings section Muharraq Municipality Ghada remarked that December was the month of celebrations and the whole nation celebrates it with enthusiasm and patriotism. She added that they had also arranged a special group of photographers to snap the photos of the event.
