What is TradeQuest?

TradeQuest is a simulated business-education partnership programme which provides participating students a real-life simulation experience of capital market investment by learning the systems and regulations implemented at both Bahrain Bourse and NYSE, analyzing and selecting which shares to invest in, and managing a portfolio of shares.

The process

Competing teams from each category are allocated a virtual portfolio of BD 500,000 and US$4 million to invest in companies listed at Bahrain Bourse and New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). The teams were closely mentored by a professional Investment Advisor to guide them throughout the programme tenure.

Assessment

Towards the end of each of the three trading periods of the TradeQuest programme, the schools are required to present their strategy, objectives, and performance to the Investment Review Committee, followed by a Q&A session led by the committee. Their assessment is based on the accuracy of information, thoroughness of analysis & research, and teamwork effort. Final scoring is based on an assessment of qualitative & quantitative elements.
