Driver detained for performing car stunts
Manama : The Public Prosecution yesterday announced the detention of a driver for performing car stunts, the video footage of the illegal act went viral.
Traffic Prosecution Chief Attorney Hassan Al Buali confirmed in a statement that the prosecution initiated its investigations into the video, which appeared online yesterday and showed the man dangerously performing the stunts using illegal tyres and near pedestrians and private properties.
Al Buali said the investigations led to the man, who was immediately arrested. Further probe showed that the man doesn’t hold a driver’s license.
The official added that the suspect confessed to his crimes in the interrogation and that he will stand trial before the criminal court tomorrow (18/4). At least seven similar cases were reported this year, in a bid by the concerned authorities to impose tighter control on illegal traffic practices and behaviours.
