‘Manama, Capital Governorate’ launched

Manama : An illustrated book highlighting Manama has been launched at a ceremony held at the Ritz Carlton Bahrain Hotel and Spa.

Capital Governor Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al-Khalifa patronised the launch held in the presence of Interior Ministry Undersecretary for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs, Honorary Chairman of Bahrain Fine Arts Society Shaikh Rashid bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa.Supported by Al-Ahli United Bank, the “Manama, Capital Governorate” illustrated book features 117 pictures taken by 21 photographers.

“The province of the capital believes in the importance of photography and the importance of documenting symbolic, cultural and historical dimensions of the Kingdom,” Shaikh Hisham said while talking to DT News. 

“The images express a civilised reality of human values in various expressions,” he said adding that “this is a unique opportunity to showcase the talents of Bahraini photographers and residents.” 

“We hope that this exhibition will add value to the cultural work of our kingdom,” he stressed. 

An expo showcasing over 35 photographs taken by Bahraini and expatriate photographers and featuring Manama and the Capital Governorate was held on the sidelines of the ceremony.
