Bus catches fire, building damaged
Manama : A bus caught fire in the south-western parts of the Northern Governorate yesterday, damaging a nearby building but caused no casualities, DT News has learnt.
Interior Ministry confirmed the incident, which took place in Dar Kulaib village near Hamad Town, and clarified that it was caused by an electric short circuit.
“Civil Defence extinguished a fire in a vehicle in Dar Kulaib. A building and a shop were damaged because of heat and smoke. Initial details indicate that a short circuit was the reason behind the fire,” the ministry said on its official Twitter page yesterday.
A video posted online showed a huge column of smoke billowing out of the burning bus in the middle of a residential neighbourhood. No further details were available.
