British Club closer to victory
Manama : British Club A took a big step towards regaining the DHL Bahrain Expatriate Netball League title following a comprehensive 26-17 victory on Sunday evening over two-time defending champions Rugby Club A in a rearranged Division A match at the Bahrain Rugby Football Club in Saar.
Players of the match were goal shooter Claire Van Minen for the British Club and goal attach Sheron Hujair for Rugby Club.
The win for the British Club means after three matches in the round-robin second phase, the British Club finished on top with three wins from three and finishing on nine points, Rugby Club A came in second on seven points, followed by Dilmun Club A (4) in third and British Club B (2) fourth.
The semi-finals are scheduled for 28 February at the Bahrain Rugby Football Club, with British Club A taking on Dilmun Club A and Rugby Club A facing off with British Club B.
In Division B, Dilmun Club B (nine points) lead the standings after three wins from three in the second phase, followed by Sri Lanka Club (7), Rugby Club B (5) third, Dilmun C (5) fourth, British Club C (5) fifth and St Christopher’s (1) sixth.
