Residents warned against reserving public spaces
Manama : Residents of Muharraq have been warned of illegally blocking public roads and reserving parking spots using iron rods, chains, cement blocks or any other materials.
Muharraq Municipality issued the warning as it conducted its annual inspection campaign in different areas of Muharraq Governorate including Shaikh Hamad Avenue near Muharraq old market (suq), Abdulrahman Al Fadel Road, Shaikh Isa and Shaikh Abdulla Avenues.
The municipality said that it had removed around 30 violations in Muharraq alone.
“A large number of iron roads and cement blocks that were illegally installed to reserve spaces on public roads were removed,” a statement read.
The Municipality affirmed that the campaign will continue to prevent exploitation of public roads. The statement also mentioned that violators were given warnings and that they will be held legally accountable in case the violations are not removed within the given periods.
