Kuwait Airways to Gradually Increase Flights Under Phased Operational Plan
Kuwait Airways has announced plans to gradually increase the number of flights operating from Kuwait International Airport Terminal 4 as part of a phased operational strategy coordinated with national authorities.
In a statement, the airline said flight operations are currently running partially for between eight and ten hours daily due to security considerations and operational safety requirements.
The carrier added that the phased plan is being implemented in coordination with the Ministry of Interior of Kuwait and the General Directorate of Civil Aviation of Kuwait.
Kuwait Airways confirmed that foreign transit flights stopping at Kuwait Airport remain suspended during the current phase.
As part of efforts to meet growing travel demand ahead of the Eid Al Adha holiday, the airline said it has increased flights to London to one daily service.
The company also explained that some flight rescheduling during May is linked to the transfer of operations from King Fahd International Airport in Dammam to Kuwait Airport.
According to the airline, new international approvals and operating permits are required for direct flights departing from Kuwait, noting that permits previously granted for flights from Dammam differ from those needed for Kuwait-based operations.
Kuwait Airways stressed that the rescheduling of flights does not represent permanent cancellations, but is intended to reorganise schedules in line with operational capacity and updated permits.
The airline said passengers with confirmed bookings will be provided with alternative travel dates as close as possible to their original reservations.
Passengers affected by schedule changes will also have flexible options, including full ticket refunds or converting ticket values into credit for future bookings through an electronic wallet system.
Kuwait Airways said its current operational approach aims to balance travel demand with the highest standards of safety and operational security until full services gradually resume.
The airline advised customers to monitor their bookings and make reservations through its official website, mobile application or sales offices.
