Mayim Bialik claims Disney cancelled plans for Blossom reboot

Mayim Bialik has hinted she’s done with acting after Disney “cancelled” plans for a Blossom reboot.
The former Big Bang Theory actress - who played the title role o f Blossom Russo in the sitcom from 1991 to 1995 - and creator Don Reo were keen to revive the show, but needed Disney’s permission to bring the idea to life.
In a lengthy essay on her Substack, Mayim wrote: “We approached Disney as I was on the cusp of starting Call Me Kat; and was working on Jeopardy! and we simply did not have the time to develop the show but tried to lock it in quickly.
“Time ran out and I did three seasons of Call Me Kat, 2 seasons as co-host of Jeopardy! and when both of those ended, Don and I could not let the possibility of revisiting Blossom go.”
The 49-year-old star insisted Disney “seemed to love it”, and the duo “felt certain this was moving forward” after meeting with the studio.
Following mergers and changes in the TV industry, Mayim and Don re-pitched the plan to a new team at Disney.
