HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Captain of the Royal Endurance Team, has added a new chapter to Bahrain’s book of accomplishments in endurance horseracing after winning the Samorin International Endurance Championship’s 160km race, held in Slovakia. His Highness’ victory confirms his readiness for the upcoming World Championship which will take place in Italy, while this win doubles Bahrain’s Eid Al Adha joy.

The success comes thanks to the support and sponsorship extended to the Bahraini endurance sport from HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the backing and interest of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. Such support and backing have made the Kingdom’s endurance sport a milestone and allowed it to become an important tool to promote Bahrain and a contributor to meet the Kingdom’s Economic Vision 2030.

“HM the King’s sponsorship and HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s interest in the endurance sport were key in this success,” HH Shaikh Nasser said, dedicating his victory to HM the King. “This triumph confirms we are greatly ready for the upcoming World Championship. We have a clear view following a series of great results,” HH Shaikh Nasser added.

Moreover, HH Shaikh Nasser has congratulated his teammate Jaffar Mirza on winning second place. “We are looking forward to achieving more successes to cement the Bahraini endurance sport position at the European level.

We have full confidence in our riders,” HH Shaikh Nasser pointed out. It is worth noting that HH Shaikh Nasser clocked seven hours, 55 minutes and 42 seconds to win the event. He was riding Bolt in the five-stage race. Royal Endurance Team members Cecilia and Raed Mahmood were fourth and fifth respectively. Meanwhile, their teammate HH Shaikh Isa bin Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa produced an outstanding performance to complete the race.
