Alderbana shocks Kooheji in the first round
Manama : Bahrain’s Hamza Al Kooheji of the Khalid Hamad Khalifa Mixed Martial Arts (KHK MMA) team was beaten in the first round on Monday night by Jordanian Ezzaldeen Alderbana in the 66kg weight category at the Desert Force 21 hosted by Al Hussein Sports city in the Jordanian capital Amman under the slogan of “confrontation” with the participation of 11 Arab countries.
This was the first loss for Al Kooheji after three victories as a professional and was watched by KHK MMA founder HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa and Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, in the presence of Prince Hussein bin Nasser Mirza, President of the Arab Mixed Martial Arts Association, and Zaid Mirza, Founder of Desert Force, and a number of senior officials.
Shaikh Khalid pointed out that the participation of KHK MMA, is just a great opportunity to promote Bahrain in mixed martial arts and other sports and promote youth participation to higher levels.
Shaikh Khalid also added that despite the loss by Al Kooheji he still remains as one of the best fighters in the Arab world and would continue to participate in future events and build his experience.
