Paralympic Committee Holds Second Board Meeting
Board reviews international results, elite athlete programme, and upcoming world championships

The Bahrain Paralympic Committee's Board of Directors held its second meeting of 2026. Shaikh Mohammed bin Daij Al Khalifa chaired the meeting, which saw full board attendance.
The chairman praised Bahrain's para-athletes for their performances in recent international competitions, describing the results as a reflection of the Kingdom's growing strength in Paralympic sport.
The board approved minutes from its previous session before reviewing updates on overseas participation and hosting duties. Members discussed the elite athlete report and received a briefing on Bahrain's hosting of the 2026 World Para Badminton Championships, including key technical outcomes.
The athlete support programme was also on the agenda, aimed at strengthening preparation systems and creating optimal training environments. The board additionally reviewed organisational progress for the upcoming World Powerlifting Championships, reaffirming Bahrain's standing as a trusted host of major international events.
The chairman closed the meeting by reiterating the committee's commitment to its strategic plan for developing Paralympic sport across the Kingdom.
