Dubai: Cristiano Ronaldo has resumed training after returning to Saudi Arabia, raising hopes of an imminent comeback for Al Nassr.

The Portuguese forward shared images from a training session at the club’s facilities on Friday, indicating positive progress in his recovery from a hamstring injury.

Ronaldo had travelled to Spain for rehabilitation after sustaining the injury on February 28. He returned to Saudi Arabia on Thursday following his recovery programme.

In a social media post, the 41-year-old wrote, “Good to be back! Looking good,” signalling growing confidence as he steps up his return to full fitness.

The injury had sidelined Ronaldo during a crucial phase of the season, raising concerns about his availability in the lead-up to major competitions. However, his latest update suggests his recovery is on track.

Al Nassr are set to face Al Najma on April 3 after the international break, and Ronaldo could be in contention for selection if his progress continues.

Meanwhile, Roberto Martínez, head coach of the Portugal national football team, had earlier downplayed concerns, describing the injury as minor and estimating a recovery period of one to two weeks.

Ronaldo’s return would provide a significant boost for both club and country as preparations intensify ahead of upcoming competitions.
