Sitra conclude their 2025–26 AGCFF Gulf Club Champions League campaign tonight with an away clash against Zakho at 8:30pm at Zakho International Stadium.
The Bahraini side have already been eliminated following last week’s 1–0 defeat to Al Ain, where a late overhead kick sealed their fate in Group A. That result left Ali Abdulmajeed’s men bottom of the standings with two points from five matches.
Sitra’s campaign showed moments of resilience but lacked decisive results. After opening with a 4–1 loss away to Al Ain, they earned consecutive goalless draws against Al Qadsia and Zakho. A narrow 2–1 defeat in Kuwait followed, before the late setback against the Emirati side ended their qualification hopes.
Zakho, by contrast, have secured progression and currently top the group. The Iraqi outfit were held to a 0–0 draw in the reverse fixture and have built their campaign on defensive organisation and consistency.
For Sitra, tonight’s match represents an opportunity to close their regional campaign with a disciplined performance before shifting full focus back to domestic competition in the Nasser Bin Hamad Premier League.
