KHK MMA to leave for India

The Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa Mixed Martial Arts team (KHK MMA) leave today for Mumbai in India, to participate in the Body Power Expo India 2016 

The Expo is organised Indian Open India MMA Championship, and will run from Friday to Sunday.

The invitation to participate was received by HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of the Bahrain Athletics Association from All India MMA Association (AIMMAA) President Jitendra Jain.

KHK MMA Team Director Mohammed Shahid confirmed the support of Shaikh Khalid, as fighters hopes to achieve positive results at the championship that include fighters from UAE, Iran, Afghanistan and hosts India.

Team manager Redha Monfaradi has confirmed the team are ready for the championships, which will be the third international participation in amateur competition and an ideal way to raise the awareness in MMA.

Russian team coach Eldar Eldarov said participation in such events in 2015 increased the experience of the fighters and hopes they make a good impression in India.

The International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) approved the event to be hosted for a third time at the Bombay Exhibition Centre and have made the necessary preparations including approving participation in the various weight classes.
