Hong Kong’s Chan wins Street Fighter 6 gold

Hong Kong’s Chan Pak Yin claimed the gold medal in the boys’ Street Fighter 6 event yesterday at the third Asian Youth Games held at Exhibition World Bahrain’s Grandhall.
Chan defeated Lin Jun-xi of Chinese Taipei 4–3 in a closely contested final to secure the title. Both players had advanced unbeaten through their earlier matches, with Chan defeating the UAE’s Hilal Almarri 3–0 in the quarterfinals and Chinese Taipei’s Chen You-gang 3–0 in the semifinals.
Lin booked his place in the final after a 3–0 quarterfinal win over Thailand’s Phasit Phutthima and a 3–2 semifinal victory against Saudi Arabia’s Talal Fuad T. Rajikhan. Rajikhan also went on to earn the bronze medal, defeating Chen 4–3 in the playoff match.
