HH Shaikh Khalid vows exceptional Asian Youth Games under Royal Patronage

His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Vice President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, affirmed that the Royal patronage of the Third Asian Youth Games inspires Bahrain to deliver an exceptional edition of the continental event, set to take place from October 22 to 31.
Shaikh Khalid made the remarks during a meeting with the Chairman and members of the Executive Committee of the Games, held in the presence of His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, Dr. Abdulrahman Askar, CEO of the General Sports Authority, Faris Mustafa Al Kooheji, Secretary-General of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, and Yousef Duaij, Chairman of the Executive Committee.
The meeting reviewed final preparations and progress reports ahead of the Games, which will be held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
During the briefing, Duaij presented detailed updates on the readiness of sports facilities, athlete accommodations, transport logistics, and plans related to media, security, protocol, and ceremonies.
His Highness praised the dedicated efforts of the Executive and working committees, noting that the achievements so far and the commendation received from the Olympic Council of Asia reflect Bahrain’s capability and spirit of teamwork between governmental and private entities.
“The Royal patronage of this continental sporting event places a great responsibility on our shoulders and drives us to redouble our efforts to ensure an exceptional tournament worthy of Bahrain’s name,” Shaikh Khalid said.
He added that the Games represent a historic opportunity to showcase Bahrain’s organizational excellence, strengthen its role as a regional sports hub, and inspire youth across Asia to pursue athletic excellence and future Olympic success.
