Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), famously known as ‘The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East,’ is set to launch its 2025/2026 season later this month, following a record-breaking 2024/2025 campaign.

The announcement was made at a press conference held Thursday evening at BIC’s Paddock 6, attended by Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa, BIC Chief Executive; Mark Thomas, Bapco Energies Group Chief Executive Officer; Sherif Al Mahdy, BIC Chief Commercial Officer; and senior management from both organisations.

Shaikh Salman highlighted that BIC hosted an impressive 424 events in 2024/2025, including 48 racing events featuring Formula 1, the World Endurance Championship (WEC), regional and national series such as drag racing and karting, as well as corporate and track day events. Non-motorsport events also featured heavily, with 112 activities ranging from fitness events and shopping festivals to Bahrain Comicon and corporate functions.

The Bahrain International Karting Circuit (BIKC) also saw a busy season, hosting 71 events and 18 races, attracting over 64,000 karters, more than 40 percent of whom were under 25.

Looking ahead, the 2025/2026 calendar promises even more excitement. International motorsport highlights will include Formula 1, WEC, and the Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals (RMCGF), set for 28 November to 6 December at BIKC. BIC will continue to spotlight Bahraini motorsport through national championships run in cooperation with the Bahrain Motor Federation. The Bahrain Drag Racing Championship, the premier series in the Middle East, will feature head-to-head battles in cars and motorbikes across five rounds from November to March 2026. Champions in each category will receive the prestigious Wally Trophy, awarded in NHRA-sanctioned events.

Karting fans can look forward to the Sakhir Rotax MAX Challenge (SRMC) starting next weekend and the Bahrain Rotax MAX Challenge (BRMC) across eight rounds. Many events will feature day and night racing, along with competitions in drifting, time attack, autocross, and burnout.
