BIC Gears Up to Host FIA WEC 2025 Season Finale This November
The Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), renowned as ‘The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East,’ will host the highly anticipated FIA WEC Bapco Energies 8 Hours of Bahrain on 7 and 8 November, marking the final round of the 2025 World Endurance Championship (WEC) season.
The official press launch took place at BIC on Thursday evening, attended by Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa, BIC Chief Executive; Mark Thomas, Bapco Energies Group CEO; Sherif Al Mahdy, BIC Chief Commercial Officer; and senior officials from both organisations.
This year is particularly special as Bapco Energies celebrates its 10th anniversary as the title sponsor of the event, alongside support partner Beyon. “Endurance racing is about efficiency, performance, and pushing boundaries—values that align closely with our mission to deliver sustainable energy solutions,” said Mark Thomas. “We look forward to creating another unforgettable experience for fans while showcasing Bahrain as a hub of excellence and progress.”
Shaikh Salman highlighted the global appeal of WEC, emphasizing that both participation and viewership continue to grow since the championship’s inception in 2012. “With five different winners from six races so far, the season finale promises thrilling competition here in Bahrain,” he said.
The two-day event will bring the “Spirit of Le Mans” to Sakhir, featuring the WEC’s fastest and most technologically advanced machines across the Hypercar and LMGT3 classes. More than 35 cars are expected to light up the 5.412-kilometre track, with top international drivers including ex-Formula 1 World Champion Jenson Button, Mick Schumacher, Kevin Magnussen, Antonio Giovinazzi, Sebastien Buemi, Robert Kubica, and Kamui Kobayashi.
The Hypercar category showcases eight of the world’s most iconic manufacturers—Aston Martin, Porsche, Toyota, Cadillac, BMW, Alpine, Ferrari, and Peugeot—while the LMGT3 class sees intense competition from nine leading brands, including Ferrari, McLaren, Mercedes, and Lexus.
Supporting the WEC weekend, the Porsche Carrera Cup Middle East (PCCME) will kick off its 2025/2026 season at BIC, with five more rounds scheduled across Doha, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Jeddah.
Off the track, BIC promises a family-friendly entertainment programme featuring extreme stunt shows by Terry Grant and Lee Bowers, freestyle motocross (FMX) performances, monster trucks, roaming entertainers, and immersive children’s shows based on beloved tales such as The Little Mermaid and Alice in Wonderland.
Continuing their environmental commitment, BIC and Bapco Energies will also bring back the Green Ticket Initiative. A portion of ticket revenue, matched by Bapco Energies, will fund the planting of mangroves in Bahrain. This year, 5,000 new trees will be planted, supporting the Bahrain Mangroves Initiative and the Kingdom’s climate targets, including carbon neutrality by 2060.
Tickets for the Bapco Energies 8 Hours of Bahrain are now on sale, with grandstand seats priced at BD5.5 for adults and BD2.75 for children for both days. Luxury hospitality packages are also available, offering fine dining, drinks, and premium views of the pit lane and main straight, priced at BD290 per person or BD2,800 for a group of 10.
With world-class racing, international stars, and immersive entertainment, BIC is set to deliver a spectacular finale to the 2025 WEC season.
