Bahrain U17 Begin Gulf Cup with Defeat
4–0 loss to Saudi Arabia in Doha
Bahrain’s under-17 national team opened their campaign in the inaugural Gulf Cup with a 4–0 defeat to Saudi Arabia on Saturday at the Suheim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha.
The Saudis dominated from the early stages, scoring an early opener and adding further goals through sustained attacking pressure. Bahrain attempted to respond on the counterattack but were denied by strong Saudi defending and a vigilant goalkeeper.
Bahrain return to action on Tuesday against Iraq, aiming to deliver an improved performance and recover from the opening loss to keep alive their hopes of advancing.
