MENA Golf Tour Set for a Major Relaunch, Backed by Entrepreneur Donna Benton

The MENA Golf Tour, the Middle East’s only Official World Golf Ranking–accredited development tour, is preparing for a major relaunch that promises to reshape the region’s golf scene. The revival is led by Dubai-based entrepreneur Donna Benton, founder of the global lifestyle platform The Entertainer and investor in Sunset Hospitality Group, who has become the Tour’s principal backer.

Benton, known for her innovative business approach, aims to make the MENA Golf Tour a launchpad for emerging professional golfers. The revamped Tour will feature larger prize purses, faster 48-hour payouts, and clear pathways to elite competitions, placing player needs at the forefront.

“I’m passionate about creating opportunities for people to achieve their dreams, and that’s exactly what the MENA Golf Tour is designed to do,” Benton said. She also sponsors DP World Tour player Richard Mansell through The Entertainer. “Young golfers deserve fair rewards and a Tour that genuinely supports their success. With the Middle East’s strategic potential, we can build something truly special.”

The Tour’s impact is already evident in the success of past participants. South Africa’s Thriston Lawrence, a former MENA Golf Tour player, recently won his second OMEGA European Masters title and fifth DP World Tour victory overall, highlighting the Tour’s role in developing professional talent.

Keith Waters, the Tour’s new Chairman and Commissioner, said, “Thriston’s achievements show exactly what the MENA Golf Tour can do. Our goal is to help more players reach this level of success.”

The relaunched Tour will feature a 12-event schedule later this year, including a Qualifying School and tournaments across the Middle East and Europe. Players will have direct opportunities to advance to the prestigious HotelPlanner Tour and DP World Tour Qualifying School, reinforcing the MENA Golf Tour’s position in the global golf ecosystem.

Benton added, “Just as The Entertainer thrived by focusing on accessibility and value, the same principle applies here: put players first, support them fully, and the sport will grow across the region.”

Details on tournament venues, dates, and entry requirements will be announced in the coming weeks.
