Bahrain has retained its early-season slot on the 2026 Formula 1 calendar, cementing its place as a key fixture in the sport’s global schedule. The Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix will be the fourth race of the year, taking place from April 10th to 12th at the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir.

Calendar continuity

Formula 1 and the FIA released the 2026 season lineup yesterday, confirming that the Kingdom will again host the fourth round of the championship, identical to its 2025 calendar position. The season will begin in Australia on March 6th, followed by China and Japan, before heading to Bahrain.

With 24 races scheduled for the season, Bahrain remains the anchor of the sport’s Middle East presence, leading into Jeddah’s race the following weekend and culminating in Abu Dhabi in December.

High demand expected

Coming off another full-house event in 2025, BIC has opened a registration portal for fans eager to get early access to 2026 tickets. A new priority window will give early registrants the first opportunity to secure the best seats before official ticket sales are launched.

Fans are being urged to register their interest through bahraingp.com as demand is expected to remain high.

Madrid joins calendar

The only major change in next year’s calendar is the addition of Madrid, which will host its first race from September 11th to 13th. Bahrain, meanwhile, continues to strengthen its reputation as ‘The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East’ by offering a consistent and high-profile platform for Formula 1.
