As Manchester United grapples with sweeping budget cuts and a looming wave of job losses, manager Ruben Amorim has emerged as a rare beacon of compassion at the club. In a heartfelt gesture, Amorim has personally covered travel and ticket expenses for 30 staff members and their families to attend the Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur in Bilbao.

The move comes in stark contrast to the club’s financial decisions, which include the planned elimination of 150 to 200 jobs in a bid to reduce losses totaling £300 million over the past three years. Perks once taken for granted, such as free staff lunches and the Old Trafford canteen have also been cut, while operations at the club's London office have been scaled down.

Further reflecting the strained atmosphere, United has also canceled its end-of-season gala dinner for a second consecutive year, choosing instead to hand out its Player of the Season award during the team’s final home game.

While Manchester United tightens its belt, Paris Saint-Germain has taken a different route, funding the trip for 600 staff members to attend the UEFA Champions League final in full.

Despite the financial storm, Amorim’s gesture highlights his commitment to club unity. With a European trophy still in sight, he’s rallying morale where it’s needed most.
