Alexander Sorloth delivered a historic performance on Saturday night, netting all four goals in Atletico Madrid’s 4-0 demolition of Real Sociedad — including the fastest hat-trick in LaLiga history.

In front of a jubilant home crowd at the Metropolitano Stadium, the Norwegian striker struck three times within just 11 minutes, surpassing a record that had stood since 1941. The 29-year-old completed his remarkable treble with a close-range finish barely a minute after his second, rewriting the LaLiga record books in the process.

Sorloth opened the scoring in the 7th minute, latching onto a long ball from Pablo Barrios before calmly finishing. Three minutes later, he doubled Atletico's lead with a precise low drive from the edge of the area. He then grabbed his record-breaking third a minute later, rifling a shot into the roof of the net from close range.

But Sorloth wasn’t done. On the half-hour mark, he added his fourth — controlling a pass from Javi Galan before slotting home to complete the rout and take his LaLiga season tally to 17 goals, now leading the club’s scoring charts.

Atletico, who drew 0-0 with Alaves last week, remain third in the table on 70 points — behind Barcelona and Real Madrid, who clash in a pivotal title showdown on Sunday. Real Sociedad’s struggles continued, now winless in five matches and 12th in the standings.

Sorloth had previously scored four goals in a match for Villarreal last May, but needed 56 minutes then. This time, he did it in just 30 — cementing his place in LaLiga lore.
