Thrilling Races Unfold at Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club

His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Isa bin Salman Education Charitable Trust and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), and Chairman of the Supreme Authority of the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club, attended the 18th race of the 2024/2025 season. The event, held at the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club in Raffa, Sakhir, featured the Al Sharif Group Cups, the Crown Industries Cup, and the Safra Cup.

Mr. Issa Khalid Al Sharif presented the second-round cup to winning trainer Alan Smith, while Mr. Salman Khalid Al Sharif awarded the seventh-round cup to winning owner Mohammed Khalid Abdul Rahim. Mr. Hussein Al Sharif handed the third-round cup to winning owner Ibrahim Al Afo, and Mr. Hassan Al Sharif, Managing Director of Al Sharif Group, presented the eighth-round cup to trainer Alan Smith.

His Highness Shaikh Nader bin Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa received the sixth-round cup from Mr. Faisal Berg, Managing Director of Crown Industries, while Mr. Yousef Osama Buhaji, CEO of the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club, presented the Safra Cup to Mr. Abdullah Mohammed Al Shaer.

Race Results

First Round – Safra Cup (1200m, Purebred Bahraini Arabian Horses)
Musanan M908 (Al-Mohammadia Stables) surged in the final metres to edge out Tuwai-san 1936, with trainee jockey Hussain Asghar securing another win this season.

Second Round – Crown Industries Cup, Tawazon Race (1400m, Local Production)
Cool to Court (Al Adiyat Stable) claimed first victory, controlling the race in the fourth appearance this season.

Third Round – Al Sharif Group Cup (1600m, Imported, Fourth-Class & Beginners)
Carnegie Hall (Al-Afou Stable) secured a convincing maiden victory.

Fourth Round – Beginner Horses (1800m, Locally Produced)
Hattab (HH Sheikh Salman bin Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa) won by a nose after a fierce contest.

Fifth Round – Balance Race (2000m, Imported)
Qamran clinched first win of the season.

Sixth Round – Crown Industries Cup Balance Race (2200m, Imported)
Al-Mohammadia Stables dominated, with Knight of Honor, ridden by apprentice rider Hussain Asghar, timing his surge perfectly for victory.

Seventh Round – Al Sharif Group Cup (1200m, First-Class Locally Produced)
Zeel (Mohammed Khaled Abdul Rahim) continued his unbeaten streak, securing a fourth consecutive win despite stiff competition.

Eighth Round – Al Sharif Group Cup (1200m, Imported Balance Race)
Debutant Biz Nair (Al Adiyat Stables) impressed with a dominant performance, securing victory in the main race.
