Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground, Hong Kong – Bahrain secured a commanding 6-wicket victory over Tanzania in Match 21 of the ICC CWC Challenge League B on Monday, 10th February. After electing to field first, Bahrain's bowlers, led by a stellar performance from Imran Anwar, dismantled Tanzania's batting lineup, restricting them to a modest total of 139. Bahrain chased down the target with ease, thanks to a composed innings from Sohail Ahmed and Muhammad Basil.

Tanzania's innings got off to a disastrous start as they lost wickets in quick succession. Imran Anwar was the chief destroyer, finishing with figures of 4/22 in 8 overs. He removed key batsmen early, including Ivan Selemani (13) and captain Kassim Nassoro (2), leaving Tanzania reeling at 26/5. Rizwan Butt (3/44) and Abdul Majid (2/24) also contributed with crucial breakthroughs.

Akhil Anil provided some resistance with a gritty 57 off 97 balls, including 4 fours and 2 sixes, but lacked support from the other end. Sivaraj Selvaraj (27) and Ally Kimote (18) tried to stabilize the innings, but Tanzania were eventually bowled out for 139 in 41.2 overs.

In reply, Bahrain's chase began shakily as they lost Rishabh Ramesh (4) and Junaid Aziz (0) early, both falling to Khalidy Juma. However, Shahbaz Badar (23 off 26) and Sohail Ahmed steadied the ship with a partnership that took Bahrain to 41/3. Sohail Ahmed anchored the innings with an unbeaten 57 off 87 balls, showcasing patience and precision. He was well-supported by Muhammad Basil, who remained not out on 33 off 56 balls, as the duo guided Bahrain to victory in 34.1 overs.

Tanzania's bowlers, particularly Khalidy Juma (3/52), tried to make inroads, but the target proved too small to defend. Kassim Nassoro (1/15) was the only other bowler to pick up a wicket.

Imran Anwar (Bahrain): 4/22 (8 overs) – Player of the Match
Akhil Anil (Tanzania): 57 (97)
Sohail Ahmed (Bahrain): 57* (87)
Rizwan Butt (Bahrain): 3/44 (10 overs)
Khalidy Juma (Tanzania): 3/52 (8.1 overs)

Bahrain's comprehensive victory was built on a disciplined bowling performance and a composed chase. Imran Anwar's four-wicket haul set the tone, while Sohail Ahmed's unbeaten half-century ensured a smooth finish. The win keeps Bahrain in contention in the ICC CWC Challenge League B, as they look to build momentum in the tournament.

Tanzania, on the other hand, will need to regroup and address their batting frailties ahead of their next match. The Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground witnessed another exciting contest, with Bahrain emerging as the dominant side on the day.
