Two Golds For Ebrahim

Bahraini photographer Isa Ebrahim has added two more international honours to his career after winning gold in two categories at the NEXUS International Photography Awards (NIPA) 2026. Ebrahim’s photograph “Dassanach Tribe Family”, featuring a family from the Dassanach tribe in Ethiopia, won gold in the Open Black and White category. His photograph “Impression Lijang”, taken in Lijiang, China, secured gold in the Travel category. The competition attracted 4,139 photographs from 800 photographers across 83 countries, placing Ebrahim’s double win among a large international field. The two awards reflect his long-standing focus on documenting people, cultures and human stories through photography. Ebrahim has now received around 732 international photography awards. He began his photography career in the 1990s and worked as a photojournalist for several years, while also contributing to the development of photography in Bahrain. He said the latest awards encourage him to continue documenting people and cultures while respecting the privacy, traditions and values of the communities he photographs. The achievement adds to Bahrain’s growing presence in international photography and marks another milestone in Ebrahim’s career.
