Jiaozuo: A Chinese restaurant owner gifted new BMW cars to her top-performing employees, saying she wanted to protect them from the cold, rain, and strong winds they endured while going to work by electric scooter.

Ma Yanli, who runs a beef hotpot franchise in Jiaozuo, Henan province, reportedly took a group of employees to a BMW dealership on September 24, claiming they were there for a meeting. Instead, she presented them with brand-new automobiles for around 300,000 yuan (around ₹43 lakh).

Ma expressed special concern after seeing one colleague return from a cold-weather commute with a red, frozen face. She believed that her employees deserved more comfort after contributing to the success of her firm.

The unexpected reward quickly gained attention online, with many social media users praising Ma for appreciating and paying her employees in such a generous manner.
