82 Houthi Targets Destroyed After Deadly Saudi Attacks
Strikes hit missile storage sites, command centres and weapons depots across four Yemeni provinces
Riyadh: The Saudi-led coalition launched a series of airstrikes destroying 82 Houthi military targets across four Yemeni provinces, following drone and missile attacks on civilian airports in Saudi Arabia that left three people dead and 36 injured.
The retaliatory strikes targeted 11 ballistic missile storage facilities in Saada, alongside command centers, weapons depots, and communications hubs in Al-Hudaydah, Al-Jawf, and Marib. Coalition spokesman Maj. Gen. Turki Al-Malki confirmed the operation, stating that attacks on civilian infrastructure would not go unpunished. Coalition forces also intercepted a ballistic missile aimed at northern Riyadh and destroyed its launch pad in Sanaa.
The initial Houthi strikes hit Abha International Airport, killing two women from Morocco and Algeria and injuring 28 others. A third fatality, a Sudanese national, occurred during an attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, where eight people were wounded.
This exchange marks a major escalation in the Yemeni conflict, breaking a period of relative calm that had held since the 2022 UN-backed truce.
