New board to build on Bahrain’s intellectual property achievements

Maryam Al Omran Elected IP Society President

The Bahrain Intellectual Property Society has elected Maryam Imran Al Omran as its new President, succeeding founder Asmaa Abdulaziz Al Najdi. The new board includes Dr Hanan Mohammed Zaki Al Mulla as Vice President, Dr Saqr Eid Faris Faleh Al Ruwis as Treasurer and legal consultant Shaker Ahmed Hassan Jalalah as Secretary. Al Omran praised Al Najdi’s contributions, including securing observer status at the World Intellectual Property Organisation and launching the first Gulf Intellectual Property Conference.

Rehab Mohammad Mahdi is a Bahraini journalist with experience in media, journalism and public relations. She holds a Diploma in Communication and a Bachelor’s degree in Media from the University of Bahrain. She has participated in local and Gulf conferences, forums and workshops in public relations, communication, protocol and etiquette. She was selected as a member of the University of Bahrain Youth Delegation, representing the university at conferences and ministry visits. She also volunteered in organising events. Rehab has completed professional diplomas and training programmes in communication, human resources and entrepreneurship. She received the Outstanding Employee Award in Public Relations. She currently covers local news, the Shura Council and courts.
