NISMO Festival returns in December at Fuji Speedway

Nissan and NISMO fans can again look forward to seeing their favorite Nissan race cars and drivers up close at the 23rd annual NISMO Festival on Dec. 4 at Fuji Speedway in Shizuoka, Japan. The annual fan appreciation event enables fans to experience the excitement of motorsports, Nissan Racing DNA and the NISMO brand.
This year’s event will highlight the history of the NISMO Festival and Fairlady Z race cars. Online content will be available for fans who can’t participate in person.
After being held for 22 years, the NISMO Festival was regrettably canceled the last two years to help contain COVID-19 and ensure the well-being of fans, participating teams, exhibitors, and Nissan and NISMO employees. This year, Nissan and Nissan Motorsports & Customizing Co., Ltd. (NMC) have decided to hold the festival to meet the expectations of fans while making the upmost effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Takao Katagiri, head of Nissan’s Motorsports Business Unit Office and president of NMC, says, “Over the past two years, we have heard from many fans who are eagerly waiting for the NISMO Festival to be held again. As NMC was established to integrate the strengths of NISMO and AUTECH, we’re excited to showcase an even more attractive NISMO brand.
This year we will also hold an AUTECH owners group Shonan homecoming meeting, which had previously been canceled due to the pandemic.
We will take thorough precautions to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and ensure the well-being of all participants at the event. We’re looking forward to seeing you there.” Ticket information will be made available this fall. Meanwhile in the Middle East, the NISMO brand has received accolades and created a loyal fan base comprising of motorsport and high-performance vehicle enthusiasts since the brand’s introduction to the region in 2015.
Launched in the region through three models including the GT-R NISMO, and 370Z NISMO, the NISMO line up is spearheaded by the Middle East exclusive Nissan Patrol NISMO. Catering to the region’s sustained appeal for performance and prestige on the road, the race-inspired version of the legendary Patrol combines a bold exterior design and a technologically advanced interior to offer customers the refinement of a luxury SUV with the thrill of a sports car.
Under the hood, the Patrol NISMO’s V8 engine is tuned to flawlessness by Nissan’s Takumi craftsmen, resulting in a concentrated 428hp and peak torque of 560NM.
