Bahrain’s property market topped BD671 million in sales in the first half of 2026, despite a sharp dip in March as regional tensions weighed on trading.
Figures from the Survey and Land Registration Bureau showed 5,038 sale deals worth BD671.03m were recorded by the end of June.
The wider property register was busier still. A total of 14,751 property-linked transactions were logged in the first six months of the year, including 9,713 general registrations covering mortgages, ownership transfers, attestations and other filings outside direct buying and selling.

March was the clear low point, with 339 sale deals, at a time of mounting tension and unrest across the region.

Data from the Real Estate Regulatory Authority showed 544 new building permits were issued in the first quarter, a fall of 7.72 pc from a year earlier.
Housing ran against the trend. Residential building permits rose to 510, up 8.4 pc, giving homes the largest share of new permits.
