Bahrain Bourse and BIBF Honor Second Cohort Graduates of ‘BHB Board Mentorship Program’

Bahrain Bourse (BHB), a licensed exchange regulated by the Central Bank of Bahrain, in collaboration with the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF), honored the 21 graduates of the “BHB Board Mentorship Program” during a distinguished ceremony held on Thursday, 18 September 2025.

The ceremony was attended by Sh. Khalifa bin Ebrahim Al-Khalifa, CEO of Bahrain Bourse, and Dr. Ahmed Al-Shaikh, CEO of BIBF, alongside CEOs of listed companies, program participants, board members, and the executive management teams of both organizations.

Sh. Khalifa bin Ebrahim Al-Khalifa, CEO of Bahrain Bourse, said: “We are proud of the outcomes achieved through our collaboration with the BIBF. This reflects our commitment to preparing qualified leaders who can strengthen corporate governance and support the growth of Bahrain’s capital market.”

Dr. Ahmed Al-Shaikh, CEO of BIBF, added: “This program reflects the vision of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, emphasizing the empowerment of women in leadership positions and encouraging companies to appoint more women to their boards. It highlights their competence, professional commitment, and vital role in enhancing governance and achieving sustainable growth. The mentorship program also provides aspiring leaders with the chance to learn from industry experts and gain practical boardroom experience, raising the quality of future leadership in Bahrain.”

The five-week mentorship program involved over 40 hours of comprehensive training, designed to equip aspiring senior executives with the skills needed to join corporate boards and promote governance excellence. The program featured interactive workshops and lectures delivered by both local and international industry experts, offering participants essential knowledge and practical skills.

A key highlight of the program was the Board Factual Simulation, which allowed participants to apply their learning in realistic scenarios, testing their strategic thinking and decision-making abilities in a boardroom setting.
