Beyon Al Dana Amphitheatre, the Kingdom’s leading global entertainment destination, recently announced hosting the Glass Beams and the Yussef Dayes Experience for the first time in Bahrain, on the 23rd of October at The Desert Garden.

Initially conceived through the rekindling of childhood memories relating to his father, who emigrated to Melbourne from India in the late 1970's. Glass Beams aka Rajan Silva cites one particular memory — the watching of ‘Concert for George’, a star-studded tribute to late Beatles member George Harrison performed at London's Royal Albert Hall in 2002, featuring legendary Indian sitar player Ravi Shankar with daughter Anoushka, alongside Western icons Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney and ELO’s Jeff Lynne — as being especially formative. It is this spirit of cross-pollination between East and West, of old and new, that he has sought to capture in the self-produced works of Glass Beams, whose output presents a timeless fusion of cultures and sounds beamed through a prism of live instrumentation and DIY electronica, all wrapped up inside a mesmerizing and mystical visual world of their own making.

Through debut EP ‘Mirage’ and recent breakout EP ‘Mahal', Glass Beams have catapulted into the collective consciousness of millions of new followers who came to discover the serpentine, psychedelic-tinged tracks through social media, streaming services and word of mouth. Expanding from solo project to a trio for their live shows, the band have also seen phenomenal success selling out every show on both their debut European and North American tours — adding numerous additional dates and venue upgrades due to demand.

Yussef Dayes is a tour-deforce behind the drums. Widely recognised as one of the most electrifying live performers of his generation, watching the South London-raised producer, composer and drummer perform is an exhilarating combo of technical prowess, intensity and emotion – leaving audiences in no doubt as to the role of rhythm in channeling spiritual energy. In recent months, Dayes has sold out the iconic Royal Albert Hall in London, as well as selling out UK, US, Australia, Asian & Latin American tours. A second breathtaking live performance session ‘Live From Malibu’ was released at the start of 2024, which has amassed over 2.5M views, following on from the ‘Live at Joshua Tree’ EP. Ending 2023, Yussef became the first ever solo drummer to headline a viral Colors show performance, which has amassed over 3.2M views in the space of 3 weeks, as well as performing on BBC’s Later With Jools Holland.

Damian Bush, Chief Executive Officer of Beyon Al Dana Amphitheatre, said: “We are thrilled to host this exceptional duo for the first time in Bahrain. Yussef Dayes is renowned for his electrifying performances and innovative sound, continuously pushing the boundaries of jazz and contemporary music. Meanwhile, Glass Beams captivate audiences with their soulful and dynamic performances. We look forward to welcoming fans to an unforgettable night of music and are proud to host yet another world-class event in Bahrain.”Tickets to the concert will go on sale on Friday at 10:00 AM via Beyon Al Dana Amphitheatre’s website www. beyonaldana.com.bh.
