SULB, the region’s first fully integrated producer of light, medium and heavy beams and structural steel sections, has been recognised for its commitment to workplace safety with the International Safety Award 2025 from the British Safety Council.
The award, presented with Merit during a ceremony in London on June 19th, reflects SULB’s sustained efforts in 2024 to build a safety-first culture aimed at achieving zero accidents across its operations.
Zero-Accident Vision
The company’s approach to occupational safety includes rigorous training programmes, modernised safety systems, and proactive risk management practices. These are supported by clear accountability structures and an emphasis on open communication throughout the organisation.
SULB General Manager of Operations Jaafar Hasan Ibrahim said the award was a testament to the shared dedication of employees and leadership.
“This honour from the British Safety Council is a proud moment for our entire team. It reflects the tireless dedication and hard work of every individual across our operations,” he said. “We believe safety is not just about procedures, but a core value that is embedded into our daily routine.”
People-First Culture
The award also highlights how safety has become a shared organisational value at SULB. Company leaders said the achievement was the result of a collective mindset that prioritises employee well-being, encourages transparency, and integrates global best practices into everyday operations.
Raising Industry Standards With this international recognition, SULB reinforces its position as a leader in industrial safety not just in Bahrain, but across the wider steel manufacturing sector in the region.
