BDF Task Force 12 honoured

ManamaHis Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, presented medals awarded by His Majesty the King to the members of the BDF Task Force 12 at a ceremony held at the Royal Guards headquarters yesterday. 

The medals are in recognition of their service in Operation Restoring Hope being carried out as part of the Saudi-led Arab Coalition mission to restore stability in Yemen.

Earlier, Defence Affairs Minister, Lieutenant-General Yusuf bin Ahmed Al-Jalahma, the BDF’s Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Theyab bin Saqer Al Noaimi, the Royal Guards Commander, His Highness Brigadier Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Royal Guards Special Forces Commander, His Highness Major Shaikh Khaled bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and senior officers received HRH the Crown Prince upon arrival at the Royal Guards headquarters.

HRH the Crown Prince expressed his pride and gratitude on the achievements and sacrifices made by BDF forces participating as part of the Saudi-led Arab coalition mission in Yemen.

HRH the Crown Prince praised the BDF’s high level of combat readiness and proficiency, as well as their unwavering commitment and honourable service to the Kingdom under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad.

Following the National Anthem and an inspection of the Guard of Honour, HRH the Crown Prince listened to a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran.

HH Brigadier Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa paid tribute to the elite group in Taskforce 12 who returned home. 

“The dedication of our elite group has enhanced the strength, skill, immunity and pride in the fighting of our forces who have gained considerable operational, tactical and organisational expertise during the various direct operations in which they have participated and engaged with their brothers as they defended both religion and homeland,” HH Brigadier Shaikh Nasser said.

“Our brave forces will be, as anticipated by our wise leadership, fully ready to right the wrong and to stand with our brothers within the Arab and Islamic Alliance to protect our Gulf,  Arab and  Islamic  unity,” His    Highness Brigadier  Shaikh  Nasser  said at the ceremony.

“Our forces, along with the Arab Coalition Force, have been fully engaged in fighting and combating terrorism and its groups through well-organised joint military operations,” HH Brigadier Shaikh Nasser said.  

“We have been coordinating efforts on tracking the sources of terrorism and cooperating with one another through all available ways and means,” HH Brigadier Shaikh Nasser said.
